How is Efalex fish oil purified to ensure its quality?Updated a day ago

At Efamol, quality and purity are at the heart of our fish oil production. That's why the fish oil used in Efalex undergoes a carefully controlled purification process called molecular distillation.

What is molecular distillation?

Molecular distillation is a specialised refining process that helps remove unwanted impurities and contaminants from fish oil, while preserving its valuable omega-3 fatty acids.

What makes our process different?

Our fish oil undergoes at least three stages of molecular distillation, using advanced technology designed to:

  • Purify the oil: Help remove unwanted impurities and environmental contaminants.

  • Concentrate the omega-3s: Increase the concentration of beneficial fatty acids.

  • Protect oil quality: Use ultra-high vacuum conditions and very short processing times to minimise exposure to heat and help maintain the oil's integrity.

The process takes place in specialist manufacturing facilities operating in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

How do we ensure quality?

Every batch of fish oil is tested against strict quality specifications using recognised pharmacopoeial testing standards and methods.

This multi-stage approach helps ensure that the fish oil used in Efalex meets our high standards for purity, quality and consistency.
